Download Yahoos anti-spy, if windows defender isn't doin it.

A very good, free anti-virus available to download is AVG 8 Anti-virus:

And for any spyware problems, get SpyBot - Search and Destroy:

Both are free, as powerful as paid programs, like Norton and McAfee, and don't use up as many resources.

Just boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 when turning on the computer) and run full scans.

Ad aware & Spybot are 2 dandy freeware app's, but there are others.

But before you get & run these, turn off 3rd party cookies!

In your browser (IE) go to 'Tools' > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced: here check 'Override...' ; 'Allow 1st party cookies' , 'Allow session cookies' and 'BLOCK 3RD PARTY COOKIES'

That will go a long way to stopping pop ups, trackers, etc.

Click on the slider bar and drag it up to the top so that it is set to HIGH. You can also add trusted sites by clicking on Sites.
