  1. The best schools for pre-law are the same as the best schools overall.  You can see college rankings at US News.  The link is below.


  2. There is no such thing as a "pre-law program."

    You simply pick a discipline, and get a bachelors degree.  Also, most universities have a 'pre-law advisory committee.'

    Choose a subject (i,e english, philosophy) and find a highly ranked department.  Thats the school you should go to.

I have yet to see any evidence that those who participate in a pre-law program have any better chance of getting into law school or of doing better in law school than those who study anything else as an undergrad.  Usually the "pre-law" program is just cobbled together according to someone's ideas of what someone in law school should know, but it is not necessarily accurate.  Most of my law school classmates were not part of any pre-law program in college.  Therefore, I would encourage you to go to the best schools possible and to take courses which would prepare you for a lot of reading and writing.  You don't need to know anything about the law or legal system specifically to succeed in law school, because you will learn all of that once you get there.
