Hey Guys,

I have never snowboarded or skied before, and I am planning on learning how to snowboard this winter.

First off, would you guys recommend taking lessons?

Next, can someone provide me with some good resources online such as how-to videos or tips so that I can get a basic idea of what I am dealing with?

Thanks!

  1. http://www.transworldsnowboarding.com/sn...

-great site to learn tricks from begginer to advance

i would suggest lessons also or just go out there and watch people and get up and try

    good luck!

  2. I highly recommend lessons, it makes the adventure of learning a lot less painful with a much smaller chance of injury and a lot more fun.  You can try the Burton website, go to BTV for videos but the best thing to do is take a lesson private or in a small group, listen to the instructor and watch what other snowboarders do, how they move, what their board looks like in the snow.  Spend time practicing what they taught you, then go watch the video's online and watch those people ride.  Learning to snowboard is all about practice.

  3. I would get lessons unless you have a friend who is a good snowboarder and also a good patient teacher. I don't think reading up on tips will help you that much you just have to go out and do it. The first couple of days are tough but it gets easier.

  4. yes i would recommend taking lesseon for the first 1 or 2  times, and here are some sites that might help a little bit :
