Can someone really look like an artist?

Today, a teacher told me that i look like an artist. thats when i told her i was a photographer and that i was really into photography. what i want to know is, how can someone determine you're an artist just by the way you look?

The "look of an artist" is one that would not fit into society's work force...  I have been shunned from employment, unemployed for 3 years, because of the way I dress and look.  I've even been kicked out of establishments because of the way I look.  I will not sell out because I am FREE, but I suffer for it.  Some call it "the look of a bum."
