  1. There is a great village on a hill top between Saint Maxime and St Tropez, called Gassin, stunning in all aspects, lovely restuarants, it will blow you away how lovely it is.

  2. La Rochelle on th west coast of france. beautiful port village. Some of the best dining i have ever experienced. Lots of history.

  3. Antibes!!

But another answerer was right... you will find local vacationers all over the place.

It doesn't matter, the whole experience is wonderful.

  4. SAINT CEZAIRE SUR SIAGNE!

And parisians don't have summer homes in Provence. English, Germans and dutch do.

  5. Aix-en-Provence is a beautiful town, well worth the visit...

If you don't want parisians, avoid the Côte d'Azur and go inland...Grasse is also a fantastic town to visit... Why don't you pick either one, and take it from there, rent a car and visit different villages and towns until you find a place that you feel really good in? And as to food...you get good food ANYWHERE in France!

  6. Beautiful is easy. Nice people is easy. Good food is very easy. But no Parisians on vacation is not so easy. I'm not sure there is such a place.
