  1. At present the most trendy Japanese restaurants in London are Nobu - http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/...

    and Zuma - http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/...

If you are looking for something cheaper try:

    Saki - http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/...

    Café Japan -

    Atami -

  2. depends what you want noodles or sushi

    but nobu(barclay sq)

         zuma (kensington)

         youcha(soho)

also consider bying a zagat guide because they have all good london reastaurants listed

  3. Roka on Charlotte Street W1 or Zuma are both good... not cheap though I'm afraid

  4. I doubt it

  5. CAN'T REMEMBER NAME of them, but one just of Leicester Sq,(very pricy) and one near Covent Garden.

  6. how about this...

    Viktor

Viktor and Vbar, located in the heart of Knightsbridge, offer a warm, sophisticated environment. With a unique mix of traditional and modern Japanese dishes Viktor creates a delightful dining experience.

Visitors can choose from a range of sushi, sashimi and other Japanese insipred bites freshly prepared at the sushi bar.

A beautiful Japanese-inspired mural decorates the staircase leading to the bar where s**y red decor and moody lighting provide the perfect setting for fun, relaxation and late night drinking.

  7. as per the other respondants it's good to find decent, nicely-priced japanese food in london. atami (st james), nobu (mayfair), roka (charlotte st, w1) and yautcha (soho) are all great but pricey, with yautcha prob being the best value, but still expensive!

for good, cheap sushi i recommend kula kula (soho and holborn) and Ichi-Riki Sushi House (st james). for non-sushi try abeno too (leicester square) - serves funky japanese pancakes! if you find anymore let us know, as i *heart* japanese food, but have great difficulty finding good places in this town!

  8. The following Japanese restaurants are the ones listed in the 2007 Good Food Guide.  The most authentic is Umu, based on my visits to Japan, though it is costly.  Zuma is my favourite, though it is little less purely authentic.  If you are on a budget then Cafe Japan and Sushi Hiro are both excellent value.  Contact details and reviews are on my web site below.
