Can someone plese recommend for me a sat-nav system that can either run off of a battery (one you can insert) if they exist?

Or one that your able to charge on the mains before the journey?

I only ask because bot the chargers in my Focus have broken (do not give any charge) and am planning on a long journey up north soon.

Thanks

  1. your tomtom should last about 10 hours at least.

Switch it off when you know you're comfortable on the road you're on and switch back on when you're close to your final destination.

Print off a route planner from the RAC or AA website as a back up

  2. The best solution is to buy another charger, simple as that.  I know of no sat navs that run on removable batteries.   But have you considered that the internal battery may be faulty and not accept charge?  Rechargeable batteries do have limited lives.  Personally, I would simply buy another sat nav ... an upgrade is good for the soul as well!  And as the answer states above, lighter sockets are notoriously bad for going wrong, so that needs to be checked as well.

  3. Nokia N95

  4. Isn't it easier just to fix the sockets in the car? It can't be much more than a fuse gone.
