I have been set the following task:

Describe the infastructure requirements for the installation of piped and cabled services using reference to the supplying utility i.e. water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, drainage.

I am not asking anyone to do my work, just give my guidance on what i have to do.

Thanks

  1. if you are looking at laying the groundwork yourself, better off contacting the utilities. i know bt can supply duct work if you wanted to bury phone cables, and its cheaper than them installing it all.

  2. To start with, the most dangerous services are at the deepest level, and they are different colours for different services, ie gas- yellow, red or black-high voltage, grey- BT, purple-cable services, blue- water, there are supposed to all be at a set depth, but depending on how lazy the original diggers were for the gas or electricity, depends on where the rest of the services are. Hope this helps.
