Can someone show me the reaction for CO2 + O3 and O3+CH4?

I'm writing a paper for geography class about global warming and want to include how CO2 and CH4 breakdown ozone. I can't find it online.

THANKS!

  1. CO2 and ozone won't react chemically.  CO2 is very stable, you need a very sophisticated chemical operation to break it down.  Like a tree.

    2O3 + CH4 = CO2 + 4H20  You'll need a spark to begin the reaction.

  2. the first one is unreactive. CO2 is very non reactive and although ozone is a very strong oxidant it wont be able to oxidise the carbon.

    as bob pointed out 4(O3)+3(CH4) ----------> 3(CO2) + 6(H2O). [god that was a doosy to balance ]

    but these gasses don't have much effect on the ozone layer. CFC's have a much larger effect and they are greenhouse gasses so it might  worth a look into them. increased heat may also cause increased photo chemical smog (which contains ozone as well as other greenhouse gasses).
