I don't know those books but here are some good books I liked:

Harry Potter of course, if you are not a fan become one. The next new thing is Twilight and New Moon. If you are looking for psychological thrillers, stephen King is the king, Cell, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Different seasons, 'Salems Lot (my favorite, vampire horror). Things Fall apart is good and makes you think. I also liked the young Merlin books as a kid. And Then There Where None, a classic. If I think of any more, I'll post them.
