Can someone suggests methods to cut down on Genetically modified food?other then commercials and labellings?

Scope:i am doing a project on GMF.I need to think of unique ways to prevent people from buying these foods.So..if there is any kind souls..please help me,thanks in advance ^^*cheers*

Why fear genetically modified food?

Sure, commercial hexaploid strawberries have no flavor, but they mean no harm. Canola plants were modified from the rape plant, which is inferior in terms of oil content.

Esentially all of the food we eat in genetically modified in one way or another.

While people are starving, that food is used to make fuel, you want to reduce the presence of high yield hybrid super productive plants that require less pesticide and fertilizer and make more food per acre? Are you living in a dream world or something?

You know those stickers/codes on fruits and vegetables? Those aren't just random numbers. If it begins with an 8, it is genetically modified. For example, a bagged salad that has a code like 8034 on the back is GM. If it begins with a 9, it is organic. This is what you should try to eat exclusively. If neither of those applies, it is just an average fruit or vegetable that has been grown with pesticides. If not washed really really well, prolly has the same chance of giving you cancer as the GM food.

If you don't consider the fact that most cattle in the US is fed a diet of GM crops (who knows what's gonna happen with that..), it's really not as big a deal (yet) as people are making it out be. Most fruits in vegetables that you find in stores are not GM, and the ones that are are actually proud of this. Sometimes they will put something like "this product has been engineered by our food scientists to be the freshest you have ever tasted!" It's really sick.

However, I think these corporations really need to stop trying to play God. You must have been sleeping in genetics class hao, because a natural mutation of a plant is just that... natural. There is no f'n way that a Rapeseed plant could mutate to have fish or firefly DNA or have Roundup (pesticide) in the seeds, which is what GM food is. Sometimes this produces extra proteins that plants would never have otherwise called prions (proteinaceous infectious particles). Over time, these proteins can cause brain damage, paralysis and death!! If that sits fine with you, then feel free to go eat all the GM food your heart desires, but I will have to pass.

And in response to Vincent's comment, people are starving not because there isn't enough food, but because governments would rather have it rot than give it to the poor. The very reason why so many small farmers are going out of business is because there is TOO much food. It's become nearly impossible to make a profit as a small-time farm owner. And, actually, GM food has been banned from being eligible for handouts to 3rd world countries, nor are they allowed to use the technology, either. So do yourself a favor and go read up on GM food before you come up with bullshit like that.
