Can someone supply a list of UK insurance companies which claim you are not insured if you do not have tax?

I can understand the need for MOT but have the insurance companies become indirect tax collectors for the government? No just another reason to not pay out!

Simply, if there is anything wrong with your vehicle at all, the insurance companies will wriggle out of settling any claim.

All Motor insurance policies tell you that your car is insured as long as you (the drver) comply with the Road Traffic Acts.

This means that your car must be insured for thirdm party risks at least, it must be MOTd ( if more than 3 years old) and  you must have a road tax disc that is not out of its expiry date. If you do not comply with these regulations, then in the event of you being involved in a traffic accident, your insurance is invalid and you cannot make any claim against your insurers. Technically, if you are driving and not fulfilling any of these regulations then you are driving witout insurance cover, even if you have a certificate of insurance.

cant see the problem with that, u shud always have road tax, and if u havent u shud have a void on the insurance
