I currently have 2 Kicker CVR 12's but I'm upgrading to CVX's. I currently have this amp:

KICKER-04KX450.2

# 150 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms 225 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms

# 450 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode

# 4-ohm stable in bridged mode

# Tri-Way capable

# Stereo or bridged mono output

# Speaker- and preamp-level inputs

# Preamp outputs pass full-range signal to another amp

# High-pass/low-pass crossover (variable 50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave)

# Bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz) with wired remote

# Requires 4-gauge power and ground leads - not included

# 19-1/4"W x 2-1/2"D x 9-13/16"D

I'm looking to stick with Kicker but any other brand would be fine if it's reliable. I've been searching e-bay but I don't know anything about this stuff.

  1. For a $150 you probably won't be able to buy a good amp that will provide enough power to the Kicker CVX's,they will hold 750 watts rms each, and you can get them in either dual 2ohm voice coil or dual 4ohm voice coil.

I would say keep what you have got for now and save your money and buy the subs and amp in stages as you can afford them.

  2. save up get the kicker ZX
