well you could get bloody paint and put it on a mirror in a bathroom (whashable of course) and write with it "Maria" or some name like that, then you take a picture of it and then you say that, that night you heard foot steps and then banging on the door like pinic banging like some one is going to die if you don't open that door and you rush to open it and no one is there you go to the bathroom confused and there it is on the mirror and then say the next day the staff told you that a woman and a man went to stay the night in that room and the woman was killed right infront of the door as the man lisened in fear as he heard the bloody screams and the man would not leave that room and soon enough the killer came back afread the man saw him and stabed him in the bathroom and with the last of his strangth he wrote his lovers name on the mirror in blood but was not put in any news so that the place wouldn't go out of bussnes and/or give the town/city/Beverton a bad name ( then when she says "yeah right" show her the fake picture of the mirror with the fake blood) easy and simple, hope it is scary enough for you
