The short version: plug your Xbox 360 into your cable or DSL Internet as if it was another computer. Have a Microsoft "Live ID" ready (Hotmail or MSN address, Passport ID, etc.) and use it to create a screen name (gamer tag) for yourself through the Xbox. At that point you can rummage around through Xbox live at the Silver level for free.

To purchase items like games and movies, you need Microsoft Points, a substitute for money. You can buy these Points online or with gift cards from the store.

You'll need a Gold membership to play games against other people over the Internet, which you can also pay for online, buying a few months at a time or a whole year at a discount.

You go to the store such as Walmart, Target, or even Game Crazy and they will sell either 1 month for $7 (in US) or a 3 month for $20, or a year + 1 month for $50.

1 year is worth is as its cheaper

u simply hook up the 360 with ur modem and u connect to live

the 360 comes with 1 month free already downloaded into the harddrive

xbox live is amazing! this is my second day of using it and i love it!
