They live in there own areas as well as Indians there are none where i live. I don't know why though.

I really can't believe some of the answers here.  It's shocking.  Yes, not everyone mixes 100% but to say that the black community never mix and that they are all about drugs, guns and crime is appalling.

I work and live in London.  I live in Brixton, which is really multi-cultural.  The organisation I work for, where half the staff are black and the other half white, works in Hackney ad Islington, more mixed boroughs.

As someone else said, there's no such thing as one black community (is there a "white community"???).  In the UK we have a real mix of both African and Caribbean .  Some communities are focused around churches.

The image that is being perpetuated about crime and violence and the black community links back to poverty. Crime and poverty go hand in hand, and many black people in the UK still live in poverty - we could go into he socio-historical reasons for that (slavery, discrimination ...) - and so  areas where the black community has been "placed" by local authorities are often areas of high deprivation, and areas where crime is high.

We are seeing a growing gang culture in the UK, but this is not solely restircted to young black men.  The growth of gangs can be connected to young people feeling unattached to society and looking for acceptance, which you get from a gang.

The black people I know are taking positive action within their communities.  There are lots of local organisations supporting black communities to develop skills and capacity to further engage in society and decision making.  There are plenty of black role models in society making an impact on public life.

There is no 'black community' in the UK. The UK is a fully intergrated muti racial community where everyone works and lives together in harmony.

Its also run by people that see the world the way they want it to be rather than the way it is.

There are places where its not safe for a white person to drive a car.  Enough said?

for starters theres more then one black community lol, do u mean the black minority? the uk is really segregated so i would say its still pretty racist but there are mixes of ethnic minority in some areas of the uk x

in my school theres a black community..they all hang round together and talk in north london accents but on the phone to their mums they all put on their ''home country' accents
