  1. you may qualify for Head Start which is a government funded program for 3 to 5 year old -

check in your local pages for a branch near you or the local school district for a phone #.

  2. Look up day care on the internet, phone book or talk to a friend or someone who can recommend a certain day care.  Then go look and take a tour of the facility (the whole area) and in operating hours.  Be prepared to ask questions about their program.  Lesson plans should be posted so take a look at them and look through their policy handbook.  Then you can talk to the director about prices and getting assistance and how much you can get.  I'm sure it depends on where your from but where I'm from the people who qualify for assistance through the state.  The state pays for the time their child is in the center.

I would go to a number of different centers during business hours to see which ones that I liked best and were best for my child.

  3. I teach at co-operative pre-school. It cost a lot less because the parents work there. Look for co-op preschools.

  4. look into headstart programs

  5. Look up daycares in the phonebook. You will have to pay unless you qualify for assistance.

  6. go to your nearest local play school for imformation don't always have to pay after they are 3 yrs.
