Can someone tell me how to make a homemade puzzle?

i want it to say i love you or something like that but im not sure how to make each piece accurately so it can fit into the next piece (im really bad at art) but i wanna try something new and creative

Well wlamart and most photo finishing places now can have puzzles and calanders and everything else from a photo.  

You could use a photo edit program and design it and have a puzzle made from it.

Make  your picture and than laminated it to fiberboard and varnish.  Cut out the pieces with a jig-saw.

I did this in homeschool with my son, it's fun.

We used a picture, but you can write out in block letters if you want and paste it to card stock or card board. Then just cut it out in different sizes and shapes starting at one corner and work your way to the end. If you want you can draw some lines on the back like a puzzle and then cut it out from the back.

either draw stuff on a regular paper, or print what you want, then cut the pieces how you want and theres your puzzle.
