Can someone tell me if this is illegal or even possible if not?

To get an animal sent to you through the mail? I need a mate for my turtle, and he's HUGE, when i bought him he was the size of a 50cent piece, and now he's grown, and I can't seem to find another one even close to his size..

I'm not sure its illegal, may have to ask about that at your local post office. But a side note, don't you think you should worry about the one turtle there by himself? I mean unless you have a pretty big place, having 2 turtles and having them be of opposite s*x, that could mean alot of babies. And with times be as hard as they are now, I don't think it would be so easy to afford food for 2 turtles and many babies if they have them. Just something to think on.

Have you determined its type?  Snapper, Bull etc?  if you get another one how long do you think it will take for the smaller one to get as big as the bigger one?

there are certain animals that can be sent through the mail.. ducks and turkeys for example.. you just have to find a company that breeds that turtle

give your turtle to a zoo near you then have two turtles together from a pet store..

Just put a green rock in there. Turtles'll hump just about anything given enough time.

It's most likely illegal. I would be surprised if there were even a mail carrier that would transport that. Sorry. Just keep looking in stores or ask some friends.

No postal service in any country will accept a live animal for shipping.  I'm sure if you find someone with a good turtle to become friends with your turtle, they will know of the shipping companies that do the shipping.  If you are buying from a person who is not a professional, then both of you may need to do the research to find a company that will ship a live animal from where that person is to the place you are living.  Do a search to find out, using the words:  live turtle, shipping and see what you can come up with.

If I were you i would keep looking for a good turtle to match your current one, set up a date to go and buy it, and take it home in one day. It is very risky to get an animal through the mail.

I don't think you could mail a animal and expect it to be alive but i'm sure if you search around you could find some one in your area you could easily contact and let your turtle have sexah times?

My parents sent my cat and my dog by "air mail" you could say.

we live in germany so we asked a fried who lives in the states to pick them up from the kennel and bring them by plane (of course we had to pay for the plane trip.)

In the US, you are not allowed to transport live animals through the mail. There are, however, courier services that will do it for you.
