Can someone tell me the basic concepts of football?

b/c the guy i'm going out with is a football player, and a hardcore fan. i don't usually watch it, cause it's boring. except for like the hot football players who are totally gorgeous :)

the man who throws the ball is quarterback (who all the girls gawk over) he is protected by the offensive line where the center is located (he snaps ball to QB) the quarterback can run the ball, hand the ball off to another player who can run, or he can throw the ball to an eligible receiver. touchdowns are worth 6 points which are followed by a 1 point extra point, or 2 point conversion (where you dont kick but try to get into the endzone from the 3 yard line after a touchdown) After the PAT or point after touchdown, the ball is kicked off to the other team where the process is repeated. There are 4 quarters of 5 minutes and many penalties for breaking the rules. Hope this helps and is basic enough!
