Can someone tell me the difference between Northern and Southern California English ?

  1. There is no difference in speech or in slang at all. So far English is the main language in both the north and south. All of California have a lot of Mexicans living here that speak Spanish. But California is one of those states where an accent does not exist and slang is the same everywhere.


  2. There are little differences. Southern you'll find more of the 'Dude/surfer talk' than you will in the North (we don't surf here). It's all pretty laid back, straight foward, though.

    I've read that Californians have the most distinguishable, easiest to understand accents in the world.

  3. No difference at all.   English is not spoken in California any more.

  4. No distinguishable accent.  A lot of Spanish speaking people.
