  1. Don't worry, the Cheetos you got for Christmas in 2006 are still OK.

    Next time eat them right away instead of hiding them under your bed.

  2. Here's the page you need to figure out the number of days between any two calendar dates.

    http://wwwmacho.mcmaster.ca/JAVA/JD.html

    Instructions: Enter Date 1 in the appropriate windows, then press "Compute JD." Write down the number that you get as output, or enter it into your calculator display. Next, enter Date 2 in the windows on the webpage and press the "Compute JD" button again. Subtract the previous output from this new output, and the difference is the number of days in between the two calendar dates.

    The Julian Date for (12h UT) 25 December 2006 is 2454095.

    Today's Julian Date (at 12h UT) was 2454651.

    The difference is 556 days.

    The procedure that the webpage uses is probably similar to this one:

    Y = four digit year number

    M = number of the month

    D = number of the day of the month

    If ( M = 1 ) or ( M = 2 ), then N = -1, else N = 0

    q1 = 1461 ( Y + 4800 + N ) div 4

    q2 = q1 + 367 ( M - 2 - 12 N ) div 12

    q3 = q2 - 3 (( Y + 4900 + N ) div 100 ) div 4

    JD = q3 - 32075 + D

    There's also a reverse function webpage, which goes from Julian Date (JD) back to Calendar Date.

  3. The time period between December 25, 2006 and July 3, 2008 is roughly 557 days (possibly 556, I'm not sure). In order to find the time more accurately I would need to know what time of day you're calculating from on each day.

  4. Right now it's been 555 days.  That breaks down to 2 years, 6 months, 1 week and 2 days.

  5. 556 days

  6. It has been 556 days.  One year, 6 months, and 9 days. (Or 10 days if you count February 29 as a separate day)

        6  Dec., 2006

    365         2007

    31  Jan, 2008

    29  Feb, 2008  Leap year

    31  Mar, 2008

    30  Apr, 2008

    31  May, 2008

    30  Jun, 2008

       3  Jul,  2008

  7. calculation results

    From and including: Monday, December 25, 2006

    To and including: Thursday, July 3, 2008

    It is 557 days from the start date to the end date, end date included

    Or 1 year, 6 months, 9 days including the end date
