Can someone tell me the latest model to legalize a vehicle from US into Mexico?

If u want to legalize a vehicle..it all depends where u want to take it...if its just in the border towns of mexico and us...its 2003 and down...and if u want to take it deeper into mexico it has to be 97 and down...just imported a 2003 truck last week...2003 just passed so u could legalize them in the border towns...every year it goes up...next year around this time the 2004 will pass...and for deeper parts of mexico its 97 and below that...both change every year...hope this helps!

You need to check the VIN number of the car, too. If it has a VIN starting with "J" it can't be legalized at all. That means it was made in Japan, and you'll never get it legal.

If the car was made in the US, then the above dates are good.

As far as I know, the next year (2008) is going to be open to any model, acording to NAFTA.
