Flying from Paris to London, we flew over this city.

Due to atmospheric haze I could not get a better quality picture. Can anyone tell me what city this is?

  1. Calais?

  2. It looks like Le Treport, same shape, same harbour, same jetty and same area. Check it up on Google earth, to me this is it. The village in the foreground is St Quentin la Motte.

Stephane: In fact planes fly way lower down the coast than Boulogne or Le Touquet as they go for the straightest flight.

  3. Try Google Earth

  4. It's probably a city on the "côte d'opale" (opale coast), but it's difficult to recognise it.

  5. Le Touquet Paris-Plage    -  Etaples

Straight airflight line between Paris & London

      Dieppe would be axis Southampton

      Calais       "       "     "    Cardiff
