Can someone tell me the negative acts of Japan towards landmines?

  1. Well they used them a lot is the negative but let's look at the positive.

    Japanl completed the destruction of its stockpile of approximately one million anti-personnel landmines, as it was required to do by the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on

    Their Destruction (The Ottawa Convention), was completed by February 8, 2003 required deadline..

They planted them on the islands they occupied and certain didn't dig them up before leaving.  They are still maiming and killing people.  This is not peculiar to the Japanese.  If you'll remember, this was one of Princess Di's concerns.  Also, watch the movie, "Beyond Borders".  Landmines are a problem throughout the world.
