timber/lumber is a renewable resource a list of pros would be the jobs that are created from logging to the lumber mills to the construction site that stimulate the economy. We use lumber any many things we all use every day and the list goes on...........

Cons, it is a renewable resource but we must do are part to replant the trees that have been logged, wild life depends on this and is a victim to logging trees.
