I want to know the basics as well as rules regarding things like lipgloss, mascarra, and other make-up items.

  1. There are quite a few new rules, some are set by the government(TSA)  and some are set by the airlines and airports.

Check on the airline's website that you will be flying on for their rules.

Here is a link to the general rules set by the TSA

    http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p...

  2. The rules are not airport specific.  The are set by the Transportation Security Administration. It would be best to go to http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/i... to read over all of the regulations.

If you are asking about specific airlines and their rules regarding baggage, then you should definitely go to the airline in question's website.

For example, United Airlines now charges for the FIRST piece of checked luggage, while US Airways lets you check the first for free but charges for the second.  The airlines generally allow up to 50lbs. for the checked luggage without an additional charge, as well.

  3. What I did was just go on the airport's web site. It told me everything that I was aloud to carry on and what I wasn't allowed.  Just look up the airport that you are flying from and it should give you a list of things.
