I want to buy this, but am unsure of what other types of furniture to buy with it. Currently none of our LR furniture matches and I want to have a cohesive look. What other kind of furniture do you suggest to go with this piece? I never see this charming, distressed, cottage look at any stores. Everything I find is super modern, or just blah & boring. If you have any suggestions about where to find similar pieces at decent prices I would appreciate it very much! I'm in need of much inspiration!

  1. If you can't find anything paint your furniture to match.

Personally I don't like that stand with a sleek modern TV. I'd pick something plain that disappears. If that's your style get an armoire or cabinet with doors to hide the tv, cause a giant flat screen certainly doesn't go with the cottage look.

Have you been to a World Market-Cost Plus? They have a lot of this look. Most of the "normal" everyday furniture stores in my city are flooded with this stuff, and you have to dig for the modern peices

  2. I love this style. Which is why so much of my furniture came from thrift and secondhand stores. I bought what was made in the style I wanted, then brought it home and refinished it. Some of it had to be completely reworked, as in joints tightened, glass replaced, etc., sometimes all I had to do was slap a coat of offwhite paint on it, distress it, and varnish it. This was the only way I could find exactly what I wanted. another plus is that most of my furniture is solid wood and very well-made. No pressboard!

  3. It is sold out anyway.
