Can someone tell me what ZOMG actually means? I feel kind of stupid here not understanding IM.?

Hi, being the middle aged fellah that I am, I don't always know what some of these IM things stand for........Help?!

There is a couple of different meanings for ZOMG

1) Zombies Oh My God (ZOMG) used in computer games or when something is scary or funny.

2) It was a spelling error when someone went to type OMG (oh my god) but accidently hit the 'z' key instead of the 'shift' key.

Now days ZOMG is used to mock someone or tease someone lightheartedly.

I shall demonstrate:

Person one: 'Let's watch paint dry'

Person two: 'ZOMG sounds like fun' :-|

Person one: 'I was talking to Rachel the other day and she wouldn't shut up about how cool she is and how much she loves brad so i was like ZOMG shut up'

Person two: 'Lol, that's funny'

Person one: 'Did you know that the world is actually spherical?'

Person two: 'ZOMG you're so smart'

Person one: 'Don't be rude'

Person two: 'I won't be rude if you stop saying stupid stuff'

Some people will just use it in replace of OMG when they are super excited.

OMG (oh my god) with a Z at the front

probably because of the shift key being close to the Z key and resulting in ZOMG or because OMG was banned or something
