I currently use the Playtex bottles but baby will soon go to day care. And Playtex liners can not go in bottle warmer as milk will be refrigerated.

  1. Can I suggest that you use the evenflo glass bottles that the plastic ones are not the best to use.  That's what I used for my kids.  Yah, the plastic ones are cheaper but in the long run, the glass ones don't have any chemicals in them.

  2. My first son used the Avent bottles with no issues.  My newborn swallows too much air with the Avent bottles so I have been experimenting with different bottles.  My favorites are the Dr. Brown bottles and the Platex drop-ins.  Since your daycare won't be able to use the Platex drop-ins, like you said; I would try the Dr. Brown bottles!  They are great!

  3. I think they pulled the BPA ones off the shelves so, presumably, whatever you buy from the store will be safe.  Some moms, however, are being extra cautious and going with glass bottles.

I like to use the bottles with the disposable liners.

  4. Medela or Born Free

  5. My son likes Avent bottles, but they are NOT BPA free.  However since he rarely gets bottles and I don't heat the bottles themselves I have not been overly concerned.

  6. you can heat the playtex bottles in a cup of hot water you don't need a bottle warmer. What I do when I heat my sons bottle is put it in a cup in the sink fill the cup with hot water then while the bottle is warming I change my son and by the time I'm done the bottle is warm.

  7. playtex drop-ins - easy clean up and by far, the best BPA-free bottle that allows you to remove all the air before feeding!

  8. born free, dr browns but those are expensive, try advent if not stick to the playtex since they can be heated in warm water in a measuring cup, i use those ones as well and the day care likes not having to use the bottle warmer

  9. My daughters were both breastfed.  The only bottle they would take to was the Adiri Natural Nurser.  Here is a little information:

"Adiri bottles most closely mimic a mother’s breast, thereby minimizing nipple confusion and enabling the breastfeeding experience to continue as long as possible, as well as enabling those that do not breastfeed to enjoy the most natural bottle feeding experience available. Non-polycarbonate. Bisphenol A Free."

It also won the Medical Design Excellence Award for 2008.  For detailed info, visit:  http://www.babygreenpea.com/adiri.html

Once my daughters were on solids, they were able to drink very well from ThinkBaby bottles.  I love the vented nipples, as I have had issues with nipple collapse on other bottles.

Let me know if you have any questions!  Take care!  :)

  10. The gerber wide mouth bottles is what I love. The nipple is shaped and feels just like a human one. That way your baby still has what its used too. Also they can be heated up in the microwave or bottle warmer. There not that costly either. But I love them and my breast pumps attachted to the bottle.

  11. I like Dr Browns.  Baby gets much less gas than with born free bottles.

  12. dr brown or born free, I use glass bottles and when he is ready I will switch to dr brown
