  1. haha your teacher seems like shes psycho

    it stand for First, Inner, Outer Last

    so for example if you have

    (x-2)(x+4)

    you multiply the x's first because they are your "first" terms

    then you multiply -2 and x because they are your "inner" terms

    then 4 and x because theyre your "outer" terms

    and lastly -2 and 4 because they are your "last" temrs

    you should get :

    x^2 -2x +4x -8

    and simplify

    x^2 +2x -8

  2. F.O.I.L.

    Front out in last

    (a+b)(c+d)

    f=ac

    o=ad

    i=bc

    l=bd

  3. 1.) (x+3)(x+2)

    First - (x)(x) =                   x^2

    Outer - x(2)=                      2x

    Inner - 3(x) =                      3x

    Last - (3)(2) =                      6

    x^2+2x+3x+6

    x^2 + 5x + 6

    this should help
