Can someone tell me what it means if you see eyes in a dream??

I'm writing a book about a girl who keeps having nightmares and all she can remind is these eyes. The eyes belong to a love interest and the person that helps her. but she doesn't know that. I want to know for a scene when her friends tell her what seeing eyes in a dream means and I want to have what eyes really mean but goes with the story.

Symbolic things in dreams truly can mean different things to different people and are dependent on context, but generally the eyes are regarded as the 'windows of the soul' and reveal identity and intent.

It may be fitting then in the dream that the girl might be advised that under the circumstance of her nightmares these eyes reveal benevolence - a helpful, protective one who sees danger but shows care for her.  It may be necessary to draw the distinction in the story that the eyes are not menacing for that to carry.  If the eyes are seen as 'neutral but not understood' then it may be rational that they are those of one who cares and helps.  

Meaning?  By their character, eyes that are not 'unkind' tend to convey the opposite - from neutral to friendly lends hope whereas those that menace can mean only that one thing - something evil to be avoided..  

Portray this in your literary effort and the notion that the eyes "mean one who cares watches and helps you" will carry well.
