  1. Nothing at all!

  2. one thing. being part of the EU. f**k sake.

  3. Our cattle are now free from BSE. If it was not for the EU we'd still have it and people would by dying of CJD.

National Minimum Wage, non-existent and resisted by the previous Conservative government.

Now if we had the Euro we wouldn't be ripped off by banks every time we crossed the channel.

    There are more benefit:

  4. **** all, it is a waste of time and money.

  5. Most of the people answering here grudge about:

    - immigration of Eastern Europeans;

    - Islamic terror.

    This is quite irrational, as:

    - most of the immigration in the UK is from countries such as India and Pakistan and no Eastern European immigration can rival it;

    - Eastern European immigrants in the majority are Christian and have nothing to do with Muslim fundamentalists.

Also, they work for their money and do not burden the social system.

The UK gains from the EU more than you can imagine - first of all a free and predictable market for their goods, a developed social system (which for instance the USA does not have!), participation in all EU programs - this means a lot of money FROM the EU, participation in scientific and research project the UK would not be able to fund alone, protection of local agriculture and encouragement of environmetally safe production.

Also, UK citizens can move freely throughout Europe, buy property and work everywhere in the EU - and many do.

By the way, the biggest donor to the EU is Germany, not the UK.

  6. Yeah, loads more hangers on. An annual bill from Brussels, fishermen that have to wear hair nets in a force nine gale at sea, 'elf and safety rulz that stop you doing ANYTHING. About another 2 million health tourists, and a load of Eastern Europeans that want to work here for next to nowt!

  7. very little i can think of more that we have lost and how the country seems to be getting more crowded and that's putting it politely

  8. Nothing. But watch the Europhiles crawl out of the woodwork and say it is wonderful . Dickheads.

  9. yea the french will finally be able to get rid of the english channel ( la Manche to them). And we will become Trans Manche yi hi start writing the new football songs.

  10. Big massive gravy train and a load of snouts that need feeding

  11. When the Lisbon Treaty is ratified by all member states, that is by 2009, then there is a provision in the Treaty allowing an EU member state to leave the EU.

Do you think Britain will be the first to leave?

  12. free trade, trade alliances and free movement of people within the EU

  13. more immigrants I suggest you phone Downing st. for the exact numbers as the Home Office have lost them. Or you could contact your local council they might know.

  14. about 3 million immigrants don't you read the news.

  15. I'd like to know this one myself.

  16. about 5 million illegal scumbags, well i say illegal we actually let them in and give them money and house's and priority on everything, what is going on, everyone i have ever spoken to about it is fed up of it and cant take much more.Tony Blair and labour have screwed this country into the ground, anyway to sum up your question f**k all.

  17. Unemployment, multiculturalism, increase in crime, health service reductions and the list goes on and on. As you say only negatives

  18. Depends who you are, mate. If you want to run a business and you need to employ people who will do unpleasant or backbreaking work for long hours and accept very low wages, so you make a nice big profit to spend on yourself,  then being in the EU will benefit you.

Because your average Brit is lazy and complains and skives, whereas your average migrant workers from Eastern Europe will work much harder and not complain.

BUT if you are an ordinary working class person who wants a secure job to earn good money to support your family and also have good conditions at workplace, a decent amount of time off and good conditions, then the EU is not a good thing.

  19. we can trade with the other states tax free. Travel is visa free.

  20. lots and lots of immigrants

  21. Islamic terrorists. Mass unstoppable immigration, and a massive bottomless pit to shovel our hard earned money in to. apart from that i see nothing!!

  22. Well U.K politicians interact with their E.U counterparts and gain new ideas on corruption, and propaganda so that they can be more efficient at fleecing the public. Its just a Legal Organized Crime Syndicate really.

  23. Cheap Polish labour

  24. They gained what we, the U.S., will gain when the North American Union under NAFTA(the Super NAFTA) is established here in North America, the shorter end of the stick. I think that Europe or the EU needed England to participate more than England needed the EU.

I do not need to elaborate since I see that UK Citizens are addressing this question for you. I do not live there, so I do not want to speak for them or step on anyone's toes.

PS. To tell you the truth I did not think that the EU establishment was going to be successful. The self-determination of the many European nations I figured would ultimately want back its sovereignty, as history has shown. Time will tell, because it is scary to think that the America's will strive for a similar type of arrangement.
