I am wanting someone who's been through the process with the FAA in the last 3 months that came from the general public to tell me what type of interview was it. Basic? Behavioral? I know it's not technical. Were they really detailed or typical questions and laid back?

  1. My interview was very short and sweet, about 30 minutes.  They asked about my background and how I got interested in atc.  They want to know if you are a team player and a leader.   They ask do you prefer mornings, midnights, afternoons?  The answer is you don't mind any of them because in reality you will work all of those, sometimes all in the same week.  Does working on holidays pose a problem to you?  No, of course, because atc is open all year round so you have to be prepared to sacrifice a little family time until you get enough seniority to avoid that.  Secretly, the interviewer is looking at your general intelligence and speech.  Avoid uhhs, umms and other filler words that don't sound professional.  The interview serves as proof that you can speak the english language without an accent, other speech impediment.  Relax but be professional, you usually interview with someone pretty high up and don't know it.

  2. Contact the air traffic controllers union.

  3. if you mean ATC an in like (Air Training Corps) then i am part of the organization, basically i am the one training, but i never did any interview, if you are trying to sign up into the raf then you would definately need to do an interview, the officer which decides about the interview will be very strict so good luke, i dont even know wether thats actually answered your question, but i hope so...good luck...
