Can someone tell me why my mom wont let me be?

When I was in school I had these big time goals in becoming an oral surgeon, but the only reason why I wanted t do these things were because I was afraid to let all the people that put me up on a pedalstool down. I went off to TWU (Texas Womans University) and later my mom asked me to come home and attend a community college where she said everything would be taken care of. Oh let me tell you when I came home it was not. By having the break off from school I realized that I was trying to satisfy others and not thinking of what would make me happy. Now I don't want to be an oral surgeon - I want to do something quick and fast like a nurse. My mom steady bothers me about what I am going to with my life because every since she has moved in with her fiance she has started to change (something that she does not notice!) When I was at college away me and her had the best realtionship and now that we stay together we get into it a alot. I feel that its is better for me to move on and get my own place - so me and my boyfriend are planning to move in the near future. Her fiance is always talking like he has all the answers and he just knows everything and it really bugs me sometimes becaus eI feel like he comes at me sideways. My question for you is how do I let my mother know that I respect her for opinion but I want to live m life and its no resentment for her life that she has now I just want to be happy and her the same?
