Can someone tell me why someone would only steal the registration out of a vehicle !!?

Being a thief or a policeman would help greatly here. Unfortunately I am neither... but I can tell you that if you aren't registered with lifelock you are at risk even if they don't steal the registration out of your vehicle.

At least once a day,someone will ask how to get info on a person from their license plate. Your registration just gave it to them. Although its the law, I would never leave my registration in my car.

if they have access to the title, they can switch the car over to their name but, the registration there isnt much u can do

There are insurance fraud schemes that involve stealing registrations.

(Sorry, not going to tell you how they work).

But I'd call the police and file a report. Just in case something pops up in the future - there is a paper trail showing that your registration was stolen.

Because if they have the same make, model and color as your car (which they probably do)They can just use your rego instead if they took the number plates too you better report it cause your details will come up for the car their driving
