Could it possibly be bc I take online surveys and maybe I got some sort of virus on it? I actually just downloaded a whole game package but uninstalled most of it bc my computer is running so slow. Here is a list of steps I have already taken:

1) deleted all cookies

2) scanned and deleted all spyware.

3) scanned computer for viruses (which there were none listed)

4) Deleted most of what i just downloaded

5) Restarted my computer.

That is it. What happens is I will try to go back and open an internet page and then when I try to close it, it refuses to close, and so then I have to either press ctrl+alt-delete, and it closes out of everything I am doing, or it will close out of every page I am looking it, saying that there is an error. Can anyone pleeeease help and tell me if possible the steps that I need to take to fix this problem?( My husband can't help me, he's at work) Thanks a bunch in advance! :)

  1. well sometimes just doing a complete reinstall of windows will do the trick since the longer  you use your computer the more clutter it will gather up even though you uninstall the programs doesnt mean that it is its completely gone it still leaves registry files and if it had to edit registry files it doesnt change them back after an uninstall

  2. Sounds like you need more "RAM" or memory

  3. i read it.. at same time check your c drive . if its have very less space uninstall the unused programs.. and remove recent documents..

    if once u r system had virus its not cleared.some invisible virus is running in system.. better to do one thing mam.

    is there any registry protection software running in your system?

    See whether you can restore back your PC to a date when your pc  was working fast.

    go to programs-->accessories-->system tools-->system restore.

    there u find bold letters with date..click any one of the date and go to next next..up to restart.

    still its not cleared..

  4. Click my computer go to C: drive right click > Properties then look around for a button that saids disk clean up and also defragment your hard drive.

    You could only if you wanted to increase ur virtual memory, just better to increase ur RAM

  5. First, Right click Internet explorer icon on desktop click properties, click on advanced tab then at bottom  click restore advanced settings close and restart internet explorer. Some programs can change these settings, be care full of what you download especially games I have had issues with this also. Also you can run a scan disk. Double click my computer right click your, right click C: drive click properties select tools click check now for errors place a check mark in the two boxes available click OK when asked then restart computer. It will do the check after restart, be patient it can take awhile. Also check how many programs you have running in background you may have to many. Hope this helps. Good Luck
