Can someone translate live laugh love to french for me?

i want to get it incorporated into a tattoo and don't want the wrong words inked on me.

  1. Its a more interesting question than you might think because it demonstrates some of the fundamental structural differences between English and French.

    The phrase you want translated is a series of single word imperatives. That is, each word is a sort of command.

    So simply saying "Vivre, Rire, Aimer" isn't quite the same thing because that means "To live, To laugh, To Like/Love"

    Nor would saying "Vie, Rire, Amour" be quite it either since that would mean "Life, To Laugh, Love (the noun)"

    So what it should be is "Vivez, riez, aimez" which is the second person plural present or imperative of each of the selected verbs.
