  1. Good evening sweetheart (or little darling)

  2. the real translation would be 'dear evening sweetheart'

that would make the same (non)sense as in German.

but think it shoulsd mean 'nice evening darling' or have a nice evening sweetheart'.

  3. The translation of the others is right. That is german used in poems at the end of the 18th and to the midth of the 19th century (Romantik 1790 -1850) and it reminds me to Edward Keats ... oh, how I love on a fair summers eve when streams of light pour down the golden west. The silver clouds far far away to leave all meaner thoughts ------- yeah that was that time.

    Greetings from Hamburg, Germany

  4. well it's kinda old or 'poetic' german which is hardly used nowadays. "auf lieb kind machen" (pretending to be a nice child) is a phrase you still hear.

"Lieb' Abend, Liebchen!" would be short for "Ich wünsch Dir einen lieben Abend, Liebchen!"

    - I wish you a dear evening, my dear!

    something like that.

as already has been said before: you won't hear that good night wish very often here in germany. maybe in some rural, conservative areas. the sentence also shows a certain intimacy since "Liebe" = Love. usually germans say "Schönen Abend, ...!" or "Guten Abend, ...!"

  5. Have a nice evening darling or sweetheart are both correct.

Above answers seem good. As they said it is not proper German but its understandable.

  6. Well it's not great German but I'd say it means "Have a lovely evening, darling".

  7. Well, the person who said that sentence is definitely not

German! It makes rather no sense but it could mean

"have a nice evening, darling" or just basically "good

evening darling" but translation is made very hard cos

    of the weird formulation.

    Hope it helps!

  8. Thats not a real german sentence. Sounds like google translator

    Its like: "beloved evening sweetheart"
