Hi-
I am an Art teacher at a middle school with a large amount of Spanish speaking students and parents. I have a welcome letter that I'd like to have translated into espanol. I am new to the school and am not sure who to ask for help. Best answer and star to whoever translates first.
Welcome to Jane Long Middle School!
My name is Mrs. Carol Morris and I am your child’s Art teacher. I am SO thrilled to be working with your son/daughter. We have many fun and exciting projects planned for this year. We will be studying artwork from all parts of the world. Students will be painting, drawing, and creating other types of art throughout the year.
Art can be a very fun and exciting class for students at this age, but it requires a lot of effort and discipline on the student’s part. Some of my most important rules are “be prepared†and “respect the class.†By “be prepared†I mean your child should come to school everyday ready to work. Having a pencil and paper will be VERY important each and every day.
Your child will also be responsible for helping to keep the classroom clean and tidy. This is what I mean by “respect the class.†Art class can get very messy, so I need everyone ready to pitch in every day so we can keep the class a safe and clean working environment. And of course, I want all of my students to be respectful to each other and to me.
Lastly, I want all of my students to know they will be expected to stay on task each and every day. For some people Art has the reputation of being a “goof off†class. I expect students to take Art as serious as any other class such as English or Math. In order for your child to be successful, I will need for them to give me their best every day.
It is very important for me to be able to communicate with parents. I not only want to be able to contact you about grades and behavior issues, but I also want to be able to keep you informed of all of the wonderful things your child will be doing in my class. I have attached a parent contact form below that I would like your son/daughter to return to me as soon as possible. Just for returning this form, your child will receive their first daily grade of 100 in my class!
I look forward to getting to know your child this year. Feel free to contact me at cmorris@bryanisd.org or my office number at 209-3538.
Sincerely,
Carol Morris
