Question:

Can someone who's been educated in Ireland go to university in England?

I have lived in Ireland my entire life, and I have been educated here from the very start. I plan on finishing secondary school here, but I am very interested in moving to England to study nursing. I know the system in England is different than in Ireland, and I was just looking for some information on this. Can it be done?

Any advice on this would be tremendously appreciated, thank you. :)

  1. you need to ask the higher education institution.  Each college has their own entrance criteria, even within your own country.  My advice, research out the best medical schools and send them correspondence.  Be reminded you need to be doing this well in advance of any placement.  In the USA, it is almost a year before graduation that we start researching universities.

  2. Yes you can study in the UK. Ireland is part of the EU, so you're not classed as an international student (therefore you do not have to pay more than double the normal rate). You should be able to find the information on the UCAS website, it will tell you the indivdual qualifications that you will need for the specific degree that you want to do.
