Can someone who knows how to use photoshop PLEASE help me?

I've been trying to remove the background from this one picture for almost 2 hours now. I cannot do it. I keep messing up. I've read tutorials and asked on here but got no answers. Can you either tell me how to do it step by step or can you do it with my picture?

I need just my cat out of the picture.

He is missing and I want to put that picture on another blank picture. Please help me =[

Best way to do it? Pen tool.

1. Draw the pen tool around him as best you can (which is hard cuz he's d**n furry).

2. 'make selection' and duplicate into new layer.

3. Use the smudge and blur tools to fluff out his fur (that got cut out in the previous steps) so it looks more natural.

4. Place whatever background you want beneath the cropped picture of ur kitty.

As Chef Ramsay would say 'FAT KITTY CROPPED OUT OF BACKGROUND? DONE.'
