Can someone work at at unionized grocery store without being in the union?

person works at a Savemart Grocery and they have a union, but he doesn't want to join the union

  1. she is wrong..the answer is YES,   but you still have to pay the union dues and fees even if you are not a member

Yes, you can work there and not join the union but you have to pay the union dues.  Answerer #2 (American...) is right.  I used to work in a unionized office and had to pay union dues even though I was not a member.  Eventually I joined - as a member you have the right to vote.  There are some benefits being in the union office  - you're protected, they can not just fire you without union representation.
