Can songs be saved after iTunes has been deleted temporarily?

ok so i've been working mostly on my lap top for the past year, so my normal house computer is very outdated. It has iTunes 4 on it, and I would like to download the latest iTunes on it. However, it just doesn't seem to work for the computer. I was curious if the songs on iTunes 4 would remain on the computer if i were to delete it so as to get the latest iTunes on it. Help?

All your songs should be in your "my music" folder.

I think they would make it, they would on my computer because when I upload songs on iTunes, they also go into a music folder.

I wouldn't recommend listening to music. It kills the heart (spiritually). It also emotionally controls you and destroys concentration. Furthermore, the lyrics do not have any value to them.

its just the links that are saved in itunes

you can delete itunes but the music will be fine

you can delete the music and itunes will just have broken links

this is useful if you don't have enough memory on your comp but want to keep it on your ipod

Yes, iTunes just displays all the songs, but they are kept in the original folder where you saved them.

They should all be there regardless of if you unintstall iTunes. Your songs should be in "My Musc" though.
