  1. yes

  2. I don't know for sure.  Good question.  But I "do" know that spiders have a unique arrangment of rods and cones within their eyes that enable them to do things and see things we cannot.

For web-spinning spiders, sight is not that important anyway.  Their sense of touch is extremely highly developed.  When an insect happens into their web, the spider can "feel" it and find it in total darkness.

Some spiders, like Wolf Spiders and Jumping Spiders have very good sight, because they depend on this to find prey.  Unlike all other spiders, Jumping Spiders can actually "shift" the retina around "inside" the eye to track their prey.  They can judge distance very well.  Their main front two eyes are separated enough to enable them good 3D so they can jump onto their prey.

  3. No not in total dark like you will experience in a cave. Nothing can see in total darkness. Bats can fly through a cave without hitting the walls but do they SEE? No. There are spiders that live in caves. The ones that live near the entrance do have eyes and can See in what is called the Twilight Zone. Other spiders live deep in caves (no light) and NO they can't see anything. You should go to a pay cave sometime and turn out the lights.  If I were to have inferred eyes in a cave guess what everything would be the same color. Everything is the same temperature. All bugs / spiders / fish are the same temp. Now a Bat (mammal) temperature will be slightly higher then the cave temperature. With inferred eyes I could see them. I feel your not seeing like seeing seeing through inferred.
