Can stainless steel be welded?

The pole on my stationary bike that holds my LCD display is about to come off, due to cracks in the stainless steel that joined them. I was wondering if it was possible to weld the steel back together.

  4. i wouldn't weld it i would use pigput its like clay but dries realy fast and turns into a rock and ive used it to fix aro heads.

  5. Absolutely, you need  to find a fab shop that Tig welds. Its more precision. Your part may be chrome plated steel , which can still be Tig welded.

  8. Yes, it can be welded. Tig weld works best but you can do it with a mig or a traditional stick welder.

    Tig is clean where the others aren't.

  9. yes stainless steal can be welded what you do is take a blow torch that can be around well.. a very very high temperature  and weld away

  10. yes.  with a T.I.G. welder.  It is expensive but looks very nice.  Australia uses it more than America for things like stair railings.

  11. Yes.  The three processes are Stick, MIG, and Tig.  You'll need to know what grade stainless you have, or try a type 309L.
