Can staring at a computer screen all day effect your sight?

I now wear glasses after a year.

If you don't wish to change your er... computer staring regime, try to sit farther from the computer. I kind of forgot back before my glasses that I was getting closer to the computer everyday. Eventually, it got to about 2 inches. Be wary of your positioning.

NO it does not when you look @ a computer all day it may give you eye strain or eye fatigue.. it is because of the glare the monitor gives off . if you are on a computer all day or more then 3hrs a day get some glasses with no glare coating it is recommended to anyone who uses lenses even if the do not need an rx

I became myopic because of books, not computers. But staring at a computer screen does affect your eyesight. I stared at the com's screen for nearly 20 hours at a go once and when I looked else where, everything looked 2-D to me .. it's scary.

It does not affect your sight, it can cause you to get very dry, irritated eyes if you don't blink enough.  But cause you to become near sighted or have to wear glasses, no.  If you end up wearing glasses, you would have ended up wearing glasses anyway.
