Question:

Can stress cause this serious eye problem?

Two weeks ago, out of the blue, I developed what I thought was an eye infection. I was diagnosed with Iritis in both eyes and also told that I have scar tissue all throughout both irises. I'm on meds, had lots of lab work (all came back normal) and cant find a reason for this. Except...I've had a horribly stressfull year and have to work in an environment with someone whom I thought was a dear friend has hurt me emotionally, financially and in so many other ways. She is my boss and I have to pretend every thing is ok because our families are so close and it is a very good job. Could this be causing my problem?

  1. No, according to what I can find on the internet stress is not listed as a cause.

Although I imagine that you have already looked this up.

If you have no autoimmune issue's and your BW is normal and you haven't had any blunt trauma to the eye. It just might be one of those things.

They do say that a significant # of suffer's cannot figure what the cause is.

I really doubt stress would cause such a situation. If it was stress, you would be having other issues as well. Not just with your eyes.
