Yes, you can get some awesome discounts at everything from the West End theater to the cinema to the Eurostar. Most places want you to have an ISIC (International Student ID Card) rather than your school ID if you're not attending a UK school, and you can get one from STA for like $25. It's seriously one of the best investments for travelers because you can use it around the world for discounts, and you can sometimes get substantially lower student air fares.

Anyone can get the card as long as they are a student and / or under 26. You can get one at any STA branch  or online.

If you have a student union card then yes, there would be no reason for you not to be able to get the same student discounts as those who were born and bred here...
