Can sum1 explain this to me??

Ok so Im pregnant and my question is when i went to my 1st prenatal visit they told me i was around 7 weeks pg cuz my last period was on may 24th but by the time i had my 1st ultrasound i was 12 weeks but the US showed that i was only 9 weeks and 3 days which confusing to me cuz that means i got pregnant like a month after last my period and later on i read on a book that the fetus or baby is alwayz 2 weeks b4 the time they tell u ur pregnant so when ur 12 wks ur fetus is 10 wks am i right??

yes you are right. an US will tell you everything and is more accurate.

It could be as simple as you have a bit of a long cycle so your dates could be out a week. And yes your fetus is 2 weeks younger gestation that the pregnancy (which is counted from the first day of your last period). But normally no matter the two weeks discrepancy the pregnancy is just counted as 12 weeks even if the fetus is 10 weeks.

at the first appt they always estimate how far along you are from your last period its just an estimate.....the ultrasound is more accurate and yes you are right about the 2 weeks the reason the baby is 2 weeks younger than your pregnancy is because ovulation and conception takes 2 weeks and its always added as well

there is so accurate week to week you are

some go by your last cycle, some go by the ultrasound

thats why they give "due dates"

but go by the ultrasound

thats what we going by

i figured from my cycle i was 24 weeks

but my ultrasound said im 22 weeks

it does get confussing
